CETCO Oilfield Services (COS) a large service company in the Oilfield Industry has an IMMEDIATE NEED for a Business Development Manager (BDM) with over 10 years experience for our West Africa, Nigeria facility. The incumbent will be responsible for all commercial activity in regions assigned with target markets in West Africa; Nigeria, Ghana,
Equatorial Guinea, Angola. Seeking either a resident or work a 28 day rotation based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
The BDM will work as an integral team member managing these regions with the following primary responsibilities:
• Management of customer accounts and growing sales in the region including:
◦Development of new accounts for COS products and services
◦Development of partnerships and alliances that promote growth of COS business
◦Identifying acquisition candidates
◦Setting up effective agents as necessary
• Develop key business and sales strategies
• Developing and delivering on sales budget
• Managing expenses within budget
• Marketing COS brand throughout the regions
◦Raising profile of COS and parent company corporate identities
◦Achievement of COS and corporate goals
• Preparation of routine call reports, sales reports and forecasts
A thriving BDM will have the following experience:
• Extensive oilfield contacts
• A demonstrated record of success selling to oilfield clients
• A technical education in engineering and/or chemistry is highly desirable
• Excellent management and organizational skills.
• High level business acumen; be a strategic and creative thinker
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong presentation skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Highly self motivated
• Good skills working with typical business use software, e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
• Willingness to work in the oilfield for training purposes on or offshore on different technologies
• A willingness to adapt to West African cultures
Specific tasks to include but not limited to:
• Managing and overseeing client enquiries
• Day to day project management of active sales applications
• Maintain excellent client associations
• Liaise directly with Operations, Engineering and R & D departments to ensure each sales application completed to client satisfaction
• Oversee and manage the issue of proposals / tenders and the review of contracts
• Oversee and manage post-application client meetings / reviews
• Support sales staff from other regions through customer calls and contacts per requests
• Participate in management meetings
• Support local partners and local content regulations
• Liaise with various tender boards and authorities
• Attend industry conferences, exhibitions & seminars
