Our client is a Belgian company who run mainly palm oil plantations in Nigeria, Ghana, Gabon and Côte d'Ivoire. The object of the company is to invest and manage agro-industrial ventures in the tropics. As such the company's main activities are fourfold:
invest in the equity of agro-industrial companies
manage the agro-industrial complexes in which they have an equity interest
provide engineering services
provide logistical support to its subsidiaries In Nigeria , our client holds 60% of the share capital a company listed on the Lagos Stock Exchange, which is a fully integrated oil palm venture of 12,500 ha of industrial oil palm plantation, an oil mill, a palm kernel crushing plant and a refinery/fractionation plant.
Our client is looking for a Financial Controller to assist the Finance Director in Nigeria. This person is to groomed to become to Finance Director on site within a year!
The ideal candidate has about 5 years of experience in Financial Controlling in a substantial company, and has experience in working in Africa. As English is the main language in Nigeria, you would have to be fluent. French would be an advantage to communicate with the other Finance people in the sister countries. You are punctual, meticulous and have eye for detail. You have to be down to earth and hands on! Furthermore you have to be able to enjoy the simple things in life, as the location is quite remote.
Our client offers a challenging job in Nigeria, with the opportunity to grow quickly. After a couple of years there will be job rotation possibilities to the other countries. Your salary will be around 50.000 nett, because you won't have to pay Belgian taxes and Nigerian taxes are covered by our client. You will have a company villa on an estate with
all amenities and a company car.
