Position Summary:
In -charge of structural design/ drafting for assigned projects.
Structural design integrity of work scope and maintenance of standards.
Check compliance with QA/safety/environment goals.
Promote cost reduction and productivity enhancing initiatives.
Technical supervision of project designated structural designers and draftsmen in the execution of their duties.
Benchmark structural design/drafting to identify areas of improvements.
Production of conceptual layouts and surveys
Production of design drawings
Checking of design drawings
Initiation of squad checks
Familiar with relevant codes & specification
Generation of MTO’s
Working to a given schedule
Accuracy of design documentation and MTO’s
Raising Change Requests when information and scope deviations arise
Working to and using the company management system
Compliance to company, client, local and international standards as given in the project PEP
· Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the BU, etc
· Safety – Responsible for personal safety safe working practices for the BU, etc. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.
Requirements
Experience / Skills:
Excellent computer skills with AutoCAD, PDMS, and PDMS Draft.
Have the ability to create accurate design drawings from base project information, reporting, estimating and supervision skills
Able to lead, mentor and delegate work to other designers as required. Assist in the in-house training of less experienced colleagues.
Specific: 10- 12 years offshore design experience of fixed offshore platforms, including jackets and topsides.
Job Specific: Very self motivated, Inventive design skills, Drafting, Layout and Graphical Skills, Budget and achievement focused
Qualification: Trade Apprenticeship, Certificate, Diploma, Advance Diploma of Engineering Technology in relevant discipline
Must have hands-on experience in using offshore structural design softwares and PDMS/PDMS Draft/AutoCAD
Strong team player and proactive
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Significant Offshore experience is compulsory.
