Supervises: Accounting & HR Staff

3. JOB SUMMARY

The Head of Finance & Administration is responsible for financial accounting transactions, financial measures as well as general administration of Client aimed at efficiency and effectiveness of the business.

The incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day financial and accounting transactions and ensures an effective Treasury (Assets & Liabilities management). The incumbent monitors and reviews the financing transactions of all operational activities being undertaken by client. Budgeting, financial performance monitoring and reporting are also key responsibilities of the function.

Also, the incumbent ensures that Client is continually able to retain and motivate staff and also ensures day-to-day office operations are effective and efficient.

4. SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 Establishes and maintains an effective financial management framework covering treasury, tax planning, financial control and management information systems (MIS) processes and which supports business objectives and enable the effortless production of relevant periodic reports.

 Develops and implements effective Finance and Accounting processes and procedures which provide effective controls in the deployment and utilisation of capital and assets.

 Manages the budgetary process to ensure all budgets adequately reflect the operational requirements of the business; co-ordinates the periodic financial performance monitoring and reporting activities of the Company.

 Approves all finance & accounting transactions and ensures processes/procedures are effective and comply with regulatory and statutory requirements; monitors the Company's financial books/position and signs off on any adjustments to ensure effective controls.

 Ensures the provision of timely, comprehensive and accurate Management reporting that enable decision making processes.

 Monitors Assets and Liabilities and oversees regular banking and treasury transactions and ensures adequate fund levels are maintained to support daily operations.

 Ensures the preparation and despatch of periodic statutory returns to regulatory authorities as required.

 Responds to Audit queries as may be required from time to time.

 Performs other assigned duties as delegated by the Chairman from time to time.

5. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

 Adequacy and effectiveness of the collection, tracking and analysis of the Company's Financial Accounting transactions

 Effectiveness of budgetary and financial performance monitoring activities

 Effectiveness and adequacy of Assets & Liability, Treasury and Cash Management efforts

 Timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reports

 Effectiveness of financial controls

 Ease of retrieval of financial information and documents

 Staff Satisfaction Levels

 Effectiveness and adequacy of HR policies and procedures

 Effectiveness and adequacy of general administration support

6. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

 1st degree in Finance, Investment Management, Business Administration, Economics or Accounting.

 Professional Accreditation (ACA)

 7 years experience as a Financial Controller or Financial Accountant, the last 3 of which should have been in a Finance Controller's department of a medium sized company
