Assistant Project Manager, Project Assistant at Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Management (EPCM)

Our company, a Fast Growing Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Management (EPCM) Firm with bias in infrastructure Projects (Transportation, Road, Water etc) with offices in Lagos and Port Harcourt is embarking on a strategic re-structuring for a more effective impact. We hereby seek to engage the most qualified candidates for the positions below:

Position: Assistant Project Manager: Ref: APM 1

The rote of the Assistant Project Manager is to support the Prefect in the Execution and Delivery, Specific Job Function includes:

■Direct and manage project development front beginning to end.

■Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goats in collaboration with sub-contractors, senior management

■Develop full-scale project plan, cost and associated communications document

■Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.

■Develop and deliver program reports, proposals, requirements, documentation and presentations

■Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.

■Conduct project post execution analysis and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements

The Candidate

■Minimum of first degree in Civil Engineering from a reputable university (1st Class Honours will be an added advantage)

■A minimum of 4year working experience in an infrastructure project environment

■Relevant post-graduation training (preferably MSC/MBA) and professional qualification (COKEN, PMP, PMI)

■Knowledge in both theoretical and practical aspects of project management

■Proven experience in strategic management and good leadership skills

■Work experience in a multi-disciplinary environment

■Excellent report writing skill

■Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) skills

■Good interpersonal skills

■Highly proficient in computer use

■Ability to cope well under pressure

■Critical thinking and problem solving and organisational skills

■Excellent business management and developmental skills

■Ability to interpret instructions and execute effectively

■Good attention to details with high level of accuracy

Position: Project Assistant

The role is to work with the team to deliver a project from inception to completion. Specific Job Function includes

■Manage project expectations with other team members.

■Support tracking of projects’ milestones and deliverables.

■Documenting and filing progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations.

■Assist in developing Project Plans and Proposals

■Execute and administer questionnaires in survey driven projects and studies.

■Manage small Project from conception to delivery including writing a full report, e.g. Traffic Count, Studies, Surveys, Geotechnical survey, Condition survey, Reconnaissance surveys, Report reviews etc.

The Candidate

■Minimum of first degree in Engineering field especially Civil from a reputable university (1st Class Honours will be an added advantage)

■Excellent report writing skill

■Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) skills

■A minimum of 1-2year working experience in an infrastructure project

■Ability to cope well under pressure environment

■Good interpersonal skills

■Highly proficient in computer use
