Description

Ensure aggressive business growth through directing and managing regional business development activities to ensure these are delivered in accordance with the organizational strategy and targets. Ensure the effective achievement of the business development functional objectives, by setting clear objectives in order to maximize individual and departmental performance.

30 Day Milestones

•Assess the status of all proposals and customer accounts and prepare a comprehensive business development plan necessary to achieve the company’s aggressive growth plan. Identify critical action items and implement appropriate plans to meet business development targets and needs.•Identify the key resource needs to accomplish targets, evaluate actual status against existing plans, and revise and implement as necessary to achieve the planned goals.•Meet all business development managers and evaluate their capabilities in line with on-going objectives and targets. Establish plans as necessary for each team member to deliver against targets.•Actively and successfully manage the sales process: lead generation; credentials pitch; asking questions; solution pitch; negotiation; close deals; handover to tenders and /or account management team as the case may be.•Be a representative of company at industry events and tradeshows in a professional manner and polished appearance typifying the IEL brand60 Day Milestones

•Conduct a complete operational review of all processes, procedures, methods and tools to determine adequacy to meet the departmental objectives and targets.•Prepare a comprehensive plan of action for formal review with the Chief Commercial Officer. Identify key problem areas, bottleneck, technical challenges and resource restraints.•Present company to select clients through direct communication in face to face meetings, telephone calls, emails, etc180 Day Milestones

•Evaluate and upgrade the business development capability of the team. Over the next 6 months, develop and roll out a training and development plan for all members of the commercial department, to ensure they have the required skills to meet aggressive sales schedule.1 Year Milestones

•Work effectively with finance and engineering departments to ensure all projects are delivered profitably and timely.•Develop “best-in-class” business development process that ensures business development managers accomplish set targets.

Experience Requirements

•Strong academic background in Economics, Statistics, Marketing or related field. Masters degree preferred.•Experience in Power sector preferred•10 years experience management as head of sales or marketing department in related industry.•Thorough knowledge of business development and marketing and business technical terms in order to meet business development needs in a cost-effective and timely manner.•Advanced proficiency with MS Office and other presentation software•Appreciate needs for
